Full-Stack Software Engineer

Full-Time in Seattle, WA - Remote OK - Mid Level

At Level, we are on a mission to redefine and deliver the portable financial benefits needed in the on-demand economy — empowering people to build and grow micro-businesses and putting people in charge of how they work.

This is your opportunity to join a small group of industry veterans at an early stage, delivering the core product that will serve millions of micro-entrepreneurs. As a Software Engineer, you will build software essential to fulfilling Level’s vision.

We are backed by NextView Ventures, Untapped Capital, Techstars Ventures, Acumen Fund and Ascend.vc.

You will play an integral role in designing and building Level’s platform. You will help build out the consumer-facing web applications and mobile apps while also helping build back-end systems that power our products.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Deliver across the entire software lifecycle: design, implementation, operationalization and monitoring of scalable and secure software
  • Build creative solutions that get the job done
  • Carefully balance the level of quality necessary for maintainability with the velocity necessary for an early-stage startup
  • Work independently with minimal guidance
  • Contribute to team technical strategy
  • Eager to learn from teammates, customers, and industry best practices.

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or related degree plus relevant experience (code academies also good!)
  • 1+ years in JavaScript ES6+, React, Redux, HTML, CSS/Sass
  • 1+ years in one or more back-end languages such as Java, C#, Python, or Node.js
  • Relational database experience: PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar
  • Nice to have: Kotlin, TypeScript, or React Native experience
  • Experience with common AWS services
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Level is an equal-opportunity employer and we encourage applicants from all backgrounds. We’d love to hear from you if you’re a team player who wants to have an outsized impact. Learn more at www.levelgoals.com.
