Senior Credit Analyst

As our Senior Credit Analyst, you will design, build and operate our credit analysis and underwriting activities, evaluating the financial position and credit risk of Level’s micro-business customers.

You will play an integral role in helping Level excel at delivering affordable, fair and appropriate credit products to on-demand micro-businesses. You will design and build efficient underwriting models for customers, track portfolio health and manage default risk — cumulatively resulting in an exceptional customer experience.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Analyze and interpret micro-business work history to assess risk profile and define appropriate funding levels
  • Update Level’s credit model based on a growing number of data pipelines
  • Establish best-in-class credit performance evaluation and reporting for operations and leadership teams
  • Assist in reviewing and upgrading Level’s underwriting and portfolio management processes, including design and operation of Level’s credit policy
  • Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction in the delivery of our credit products
  • Monitor and apply regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Develop and implement a segmentation strategy for our customer base

  • 3+ years professional experience, with demonstrated success building and maintaining credit models in consumer or small business field
  • 2+ years experience programming in Python, R, or other objected oriented languages.
  • Problem solver who enjoys taking on big challenges
  • Innate sense of curiosity with desire to innovate and create transformational solutions
  • Strong sense of ownership and business orientation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to translate complex concepts for different audiences
  • BA/MS in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Computational Math, Statistics, Finance or related field)
  • Prior experience in a startup environment preferred
