As our VP of Credit, you will shape our initial credit offerings, build our credit operations and deliver on the highest priorities of the company.

Opportunity:

You will own the Level credit portfolio, including product development, underwriting, pricing, policy and performance. You will also be responsible for designing and building best-in-class processes for onboarding customers, disbursing funds, tracking repayment progress and limiting risk — cumulatively resulting in an exceptional customer experience.

Your solutions will empower millions of people to access flexible, fair and affordable credit to build their businesses. Specific responsibilities include:

Product Development and Delivery

  • Design credit products built around specific needs, test and iterate with customers, refine based on customer feedback and scale broadly
  • Establish and lead credit committee to monitor and adjust performance of credit portfolio
  • Partner closely with data team to build alternative models to assess risk and experiment with these models
  • Develop new segmentation models and evaluation techniques to deliver credit to non-traditional or hard-to-reach customers

Credit Operations

  • Establish processes for accurate information collection and verification
  • Refine and improve upon fund disbursement practices
  • Improve upon and maintain a ledger of all transactions
  • Put practices in place to remain actively engaged with customers
  • Establish channels and processes for delivering outstanding customer service
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes to identify and limit risks

Team Engagement

  • Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to identify, test and deploy new customer-facing solutions
  • Work creatively and collaboratively with the Level Team to build a high growth and high impact business

Requirements

You have a “get it done” attitude and will take ownership of growing Level from day one. You thrive on challenges and are invigorated by momentum, accomplishment and building things with purpose. You are a team player and are eager to contribute to the overall success of Level.

  • Masters in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computational Math, Statistics, Finance or related fields
  • 8+ years professional experience, with proven success launching creative consumer credit products and building and maintaining credit operations
  • Problem solver who enjoys taking on big challenges
  • Innate sense of curiosity with desire to innovate and create transformational solutions
  • Strong sense of ownership and business orientation
  • Experience navigating state and federal financial services regulations preferred
  • Prior experience in a startup environment preferred
